Lets Brew up a Spicy Storm!

We are pivoting to a Chilli & Beer Fest due to Halloween falling too far away from a weekend in 2024.

Discover a world of deliciousness at Slipstream Brewing Co in central Yeerongpilly, and wash down that chilli heat.

HELLFIRE ALLEY

A variety of delicious chilli condiments, sauces and other products will be available for you to try and then buy in the festival.

Every vendor will have some treats for the kids, so make sure you visit them all.

BEER AND CHILLI CHALLENGES

Dave Gilbert challenger supreme!

For the bravehearts, a choice of four chilli challenges to set the stage on fire!  This was our 2022 selection – bound to have some fun additions for 2024

Fiery Pod Challenge – Chilloomba Chillies (Cairns) will supply an array of pods for the daring contestants.   The last person standing crowned the winner!

Flaming Wing Challenge– Endurance and capacity are key in this challenge involving some wicked wings.  Wings will just keep on being loaded onto contestant’s plates until the last person standing takes the crown!

Mallory’s Tocino Jerky Challenge –  Get into the super delicious and spicy jerky and finish first to win!

Reaper Fudge Challenge  – Experience the insasnity of Fudging Mad’s Reaper Fudge – last person standing wins!

FOOD FOR EVERYONE

Our food vendors have a mandate to provide at least four chilli-themed offerings, as well as regular food , with a touch of Halloween fun.

Even our cold drinks and desserts will provide some chilli and Halloween theming.

JUST FOR THE KIDS

Everyone’s favourite Animal Nursery will be there, plus some fun face-painting, and other craft activities.

Prizes for the Cutest Chilli Kid, so get that cute costume ready!

CHILLI PLANTS and GROWING ADVICE)

Melissa O’Brien of Infusion Chilli Farm at Redland Bay will be at the festival with 1001 chili seedlings and plants of all varieties.  Mel is a fully-accredited grower, with sustainability and eco-friendly practices to her credit as well.

The first 500 online ticket holders will collect their chilli seedling from this stall (and check out some more advanced plants while you’re there!).

CELEBRITY GUEST CHEFS

Valerie Ferdinandz

Valerie is no stranger to spice, being of Indian heritage.  She and daughter, Courtney, made it to the finals of MKR in 2014.  Valerie is still passionate about food and especially chillies, and creates delicious food for her own family and lucky patrons at the

New Farm Bistro.  Follow Valerie on Facebook.

Valerie adds her ethnic foodie touch to the proceedings and the pair will surely entertain patrons with their banter.

FREE WORKSHOPS IN THE WORKSHOP MARQUEE

Join Valerie as she guides you on a 45 minute journey on safe preparation with chillies when cooking. Refer to our program for the scheduled time.

Need help growing healthy chilli plants?  Melissa O’Brien of Infusions Chilli Farm at Redland Bay is passionate about getting the most out of your plant investment and will run several “How to” workshops throughout the day.  Just check the program closer to the time.

LIVE MUSIC

Great live music is always peppered in between the chilli challenges on stage. Once again, we have the guitar maestro, Sean Mullen, gracing our stage, playing some hot guitar (and even some Joe Satriani tunes).  He’ll also be joined by Sandra Beynon on vocals.

This is last year’s program, as an example.
