BRIZ CHILLI FEST 2020 CANCELLED
Thursday 6th August, 2020.
It is with great sadness that organisers have chosen to cancel the 2020 Briz Chilli Fest.
The ongoing uncertainty around borders, the constant threat of lockdowns, and the latest developments with hotspots resulting in changing social-distancing restrictions mean we cannot guarantee the festival experience we like to create for our visitors.
We had hoped for a two-day festival at Waterfront Park, however, this was not approved by the Brisbane City Council, so it’s even harder to produce a Covid-friendly event which at the same time delivers as a festival should.
We look forward to more event-friendly 2021 and wish all of our suppliers, vendors, performers and chilli-heads the very best until then.
Keep an eye out for Gold Coast Cheese Chilli and Chocolate Festival, planned for Saturday 5th December at Paradise Country Parklands at Nerang. We might be lucky enough to get this one off the ground!
We donate 10% of our net profit to CFQ as well as conducting a multi-draw raffle and pillion auctions on the day.
Briz Chilli Fest acknowledges Brisbane City Council’s support for this event as part of its CREATIVE BRISBANE vision.
Are you ready to get your chilli on??
Brisbane’s only family-friendly Chilli Festival.
Everything hot and spicy, delicious and diabolical, fun and frivolous, educational and exciting will be on display.
Proudly supporting Cystic Fibrosis Queensland through donation of 10% of net ticket sales.
Join us on Saturday 10th October and Sunday 11th October for two days of chilli madness! Yes, we’re back bigger than ever with lots more time to do more crazy chilli stunts for your enjoyment.
Waterfront Park at Newstead will again come alive with something for all ages to enjoy.
Lots to eat, see and do for yoing and old.
Bring a picnic rug and enjoy a day in beautiful Brisbane.
Centre Stage will feature fabulous live music and other cultural performances from chilli-loving ethnic groups.
Watch the brave chilli-heads compete in six challenges and there will even be a fun (non-chilli) challenge for the kids.
Hellfire Alley promises a wide array of quality chilli products.
Our VIP Champagne and Chilli Experience is a must-do for the luxe-lovers.
Our food vendors all offer at least two chilli-themed offerings across savory and sweet choices.
Entire festival site is a licensed area with security provided to ensure a relaxed day for everyone. Head to the Afterburn Bar for chilli beer, regular beer, chilli and regular cocktails, wine and spirits. For a touch of class, visit our Champagne Bar.
Kids can visit the animal nursery, ride a pony (or a unicorn!), watch the model boats, have their face painted or play in the Council playground adjacent to the festival site.
Two Day Passes:
Kids 4-14 FREE
Single Day Pass:
Kids 4-14 FREE
VIP Champagne & Chilli Experience
The entire festival site will be liquor licensed. Be prepared to provide proof of age and adhere to RSA guidelines if intending to consume alcohol.
Bag checks will be conducted at entry.
We use social-enterprise ticketing platform Humanitix, which donates its booking fees to a charity of our choice. Briz Chilli Fest has this year chosen Girls’ Education Programs to help reduce the number of girls around the world who are out of education – currently at 65 million! Humanitix closes the gap.
CFQ Multi-Draw Raffle
Be sure to buy tickets to win one of dozens of prizes drawn on the day. If you’d like to donate a prize, please get in touch with us!
BrizChilli Fest is working hard to improve on last year’s event and access for prams and disabled will be much improved.
We have a great mix of returning and new stallholders in Hellfire Alley to keep the range of products and food as interesting as we can. The stallholders are the backbone of BrizChilliFest and we strive to include new exhibitors as well as your favourites from 2019 coming back so you can stock up on your chilli goodies. We will be adding to the list below. They include market stalls, herb and chilli plants, great sauces and spices, mind-blowing hot sauce, beer, wine, desserts, meals, kids activities and much more.
Check out the vendor list, visit their websites or facebook pages and make a note of who to visit when you come along to BrizChilli Festival 2020
